Translation Hours

How Translation Hours Work

Translation hours aren't just clock time. They're consumed once per active language stream, per hour. The more languages running at once, the faster they're used.

The core concept

Example A

Active language

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish

Translation hours

10 hrs

1 stream ร— 1 hr/real-hr = drains slowly

10 real hours

10 hrs รท 1 language

Example B

Active languages

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish
๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท French

Translation hours

10 hrs

2 streams ร— 1 hr/real-hr = drains 2ร— faster

5 real hours

10 hrs รท 2 languages

Watch the bars above. Example B drains at exactly twice the speed of Example A.

The formula

Translation HoursรทActive Languages=Real Hours Available

Each language stream consumes exactly 1 translation hour per real clock hour, independently.

Common questions

Do unused translation hours roll over to the next month?

Translation hours are allocated monthly and reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused hours do not carry over, so we recommend choosing a plan that matches your typical usage.

What happens if I run out of translation hours mid-session?

On a paid subscription, your session keeps running uninterrupted. Any usage beyond your included hours is automatically billed as overage in 60-minute blocks. Your congregation never experiences a cutoff. You can monitor your remaining hours in the church dashboard at any time.

Can I upgrade my plan to get more hours?

Yes, you can upgrade at any time from your church dashboard. Your new plan's translation hours take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Does it matter how many people are listening in a language?

No. Each language stream counts as one translation hour per real hour, regardless of whether 1 or 1,000 people are listening in that language. Logia charges by stream, not by listener.
